SUMMARY:Belgian EU Presidency Workshop: Securing Access to Radiopharmaceuticals for all European Patients
DESCRIPTION:During its presidency of the Council of the European Union\, Belgium is striving towards a brighter future for radiopharmaceuticals. Therefore\, the Directorate-General for Energy of the Federal Public Service Economy\, SMEs\, Self-Employed and Energy will organise a workshop on this topic at the Palais des Académies in Brussels on 28 of February 2024. \nThe one-day workshop is divided into four sessions\, each focusing on a specific topic:\nThe first session will be devoted to “precision medicine in cancer therapy using radiopharmaceuticals”\nThe second to “the importance of doctor’s knowledge to guarantee patient’s quality of life: the patient’s perspective”\nThe third to “EU regulatory aspects”\nThe fourth session will consist of “securing the radiopharmaceutical supply chain and fostering the EU autonomy”\nEach session will be made up of several subtopics presented by various speakers who are experts in both the nuclear medicine field and in European institutional and association circles. \nMore information

SUMMARY:ENS Conference : Beating Cancer – Turning the tide with medical isotopes
DESCRIPTION:Every year 10 million patients in Europe benefit from nuclear medicine. In the past decade\, research has made tremendous progress and medical isotopes are expected to become an even more vital tool in the treatment of many types of cancers. \nIn this session\, we will learn about the use of medical isotopes for diagnosis and treatment. Our experts will give an update on increasingly effective therapeutics and the expected growth in medical nuclear procedures in line with these dynamic developments. \nWe will identify what is needed to establish a robust supply chain in the EU and to ensure that all patients receive the care they need when they need it. \nSpeakers: \n\nDr. Wouter Vogel\, Antoni Van Leeuwenhoek Dutch Cancer Institute\nProf. Michel Koole\, European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM)\nRichard Zimmermann\, MEDraysintell\, and Sven Van den Berghe\, Panthera\n\nModerator: Remigiusz Baranczyk\, Euratom Supply Agency \nYou can attend the event on-site or via live streaming. It is free of charge\, but we ask you for registering: \nOn-Site Participation: Please\, select the On-Site Participation Ticket (max. 30 seats available) \nLive Streaming: Please\, register for a Live Streaming Ticket (starting from 09:00am)
